KROUMA Ecolodge is an environment-friendly campsite that was built from the natural components of the surrounding nature as granite rocks, green mud, limestone, wicker, Lagerstroemia Indica trees, burlap, and palm trees. In addition to our continuous efforts in minimizing the usage of electricity and working on renewable energy sources such as building a solar and biogas system as well as using antiseptic capsules of useful bacteria to clear the drainage and reuse of recycled water.

The Krouma Journey is a swimming trip taken by children at the age of five or six years old between some of the Nubian islands, and it is composed of three-part that firstly begins with the child observing the elder and daring to go down the Nile by walking on the beach and trying to learn to swim that’s where he realized his first dreams to reach the small Krouma.

"Krouma is rocks found between the Nubian islands in the middle of the Nile, including the small Krouma, meaning the closest to the shore, and the large Krouma, which is the furthest from the shore as well as regard to the depth of the Nile and the difficulty of swimming against the flow".
​
And the second part comes, and the matter here is different because the depth is greater, the flow is harder, and the distance is farther. The encouragement from others motivates the child to start his many attempts and disregard his repeated failure. He may drown sometimes, but fate saves him by his hand or by the others, and the child then achieves the second part of his dreams, which is that he reaches the big Krouma.
The last part is reaching the opposite shore, and it is the easiest phase because the child already has gained many experiences and will apply them with greater calmness and confidence

This journey resembles our lives in its three parts when we are born and then we grew up trying to learn about the life, to succeed, and then fail. We gain confidence about our decisions and choices to pass difficult times, and only by GOD's will, we achieve our dreams, but sometimes we struggle until we reach there with our new thoughts and bigger experience that take us safely to the other shore.
